O'Fallon Centennial Souvenir Program, 1954
In 1954, O'Fallon marked its 100th birthday from the founding of O'Fallon Station in 1854. For months ahead of time, many residents worked to organize a massive celebration, and for five days in August of that year, O'Fallon partied!
The articles listed below represent the complete text and photographs from the souvenir program that was prepared in honor of the occasion.
Perhaps the Centennial Pageant Committee best summarized the thoughts of those who were involved at the time, when they said...
"The hope for our future lies within each of us -- if we remember to hold dear the traditions and heritages that have been handed down to us through our past by those who so zealously guarded them for us. May we be able to hand them on to those coming after us, is our prayer for the future."
This souvenir program, that they worked so hard to share with all of us, goes a long way toward that end.
